Sixth Form students at The Blandford School are celebrating having achieved some excellent results in a year which has seen so much curriculum change, including the introduction of new linear A Levels.
The Blandford School’s top A Level performer with outstanding grades was Luke Powell, who achieved 2 A*’s. 1 A and a Distinction*. Luke has accepted a place at Bath University where he will study Aerospace Engineering.
Bethan Amey achieved 2 A*’s and 2 B’s, Alyce Peaty achieved 2 A*s and 1B, Tom Ansell and Hannah Smith achieved 1 A* and 2 A’s, and Alisha Dolman and Ella O’Loughlin achieved 1 A* and 2 B’s. Bethan & Tom have both accepted places at Reading University to study Film & Theatre Studies. Bethan will study this academic year, whilst Tom has decided to defer his place for a year. Alyce Peaty has deferred her place at Exeter University where she will study Mathematics. Alisha Dolman has accepted her place at Sussex University where she will study History, and Ella O’Loughlin will be taking a foundation degree in Art at Plymouth University.
Students following vocational pathways also achieved very well indeed. Top performers include Dipes Limbu with 3 Distinction*’s, Scott Pearson with 3 Distinction*’s and Phoebe Stanley with 2 Distinction*’s and a Distinction.
