Introducing the new Head Boy & Head Girl

We would like to introduce ourselves. I am Ben Knight and this is Alice McNab.  We were appointed Head Boy and Girl in July and are really looking forward to representing the students and leading the new Student Forum.

Ben:

‘Both of us have different experiences here, I joined TBS at the start of year 12 and Alice started in Year 7, our journeys have been of a different length but have nevertheless been really enjoyable and positive. The school has helped us to develop in a variety of ways by extending our knowledge and skills and really helping us to prepare for our futures.

Much of the progress both personally and academically is reliant on the welcoming, hard-working team ethos which is created within the school by the staff. Although I joined the school in the sixth form, it is in the main reason I was able to settle in very quickly.’

Alice:

‘During my time in the lower school, I discovered every member of staff supports you, encourages you and challenges you to do your best and fulfil your potential from day one in year 7, until your last day in year 11. Each and every member of the school team strives for success within every student, offering help and guidance as well as chances to succeed within every subject.

In addition to this the opportunities on offer at TBS are countless and we both want to encourage students to get involved in as much as possible.

There are chances to compete in sports competitions and be selected for international or national sport tours, to be chosen for academic contests in a variety of subjects such as mathematics, there are trips to foreign countries to practice and develop your understanding of a language, and you can show off your talent in school productions. There are numerous extra-curricular clubs from art to music, science to warhammer.’

Ben:

‘The new Student Forum is a chance for students to have their voices heard, in the right way. We want to work with students and with Mrs Wilson and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we, as a student body, are involved in decision making. ‘

Alice:

‘We feel very privileged to be Head Boy and Girl of TBS and we hope to contribute really positively on the students behalf.’
